  • We are very pleased to be able to add Chelsea to our adoptable list of puppy mill survivors! In March 2016, after Chelsea had been in rescue for only a few short weeks, her health went downhill. Her overall condition deteriorated and she began having seizures. An MRI of her brain showed multifocal inflammation of the brain and the spinal fluid analysis was consistent with an immune-mediated inflammatory condition. Chelsea has been treated with multiple medications and we are very happy to say that she tolerated these medications and has made great strides in her recovery! As of March 2017, Chelsea’s neurologist has decreased/ removed several medications! At this point, Chelsea is currently taking the following medications: Phenobarbital (reduce risk of seizure) - 1/2 tab every 12 hours indefinitely; Zonisamide (Long-term anticonvulsant medication) 100 mg (Capsule): Give 1 cap every 12 hours indefinitely; Famotidine (used to reduce the amount of stomach acid produced) 10 mg (Tablet): Give 1 tab once daily indefinitely & Soloxine 0.02 mg – Give 1 tabs every 12 hours (Treat hypothyroidism) Chelsea absolutely adores other dogs - so a forever home with a doggie playmate is a must! Chelsea also likes: walking on a leash; watching The Great British Baking Show on TV; snuggling up on the couch; getting prime sleeping area on her foster momma’s bed; food; some more food; a lot of food; (Chelsea is very food motivated)..hence the walking on a leash part. Chelsea can do about 2-3 steps up & down from the outside; but cannot do an entire flight. Her foster momma carries her up and down the steps from the 2nd floor at bedtime. Chelsea also loves to wonder around the fenced in yard and explore… so a fenced in yard would be a plus! Please consider giving Chelsea, our Shihtzu born on 4/1/10 the forever home she deserves by going to www.atailtotell.com and filling out an adoption application. **Chelsea is not able to get vaccines and has a letter from her neurologist stating that**

  • Walter brings us so much joy every day. It breaks my heart to know what he endured for years during his time at the mill. It has been so rewarding for us to help him overcome his fears and enjoy life as a pampered pooch. Walter gets so much attention wherever we go. He has educated so many of our friends and family of the horrors of puppy mills. It is an unbelievable feeling to know that we have provided a happy life for Walter.
