Tinder is a female Yorkshire Terrier who was born in Dec 2015 . She is a sweet, gentle soul, who weighs approximately 5 pounds. Tinder was traumatized by her life in the mill. As a result, she does not trust humans. She is quick to flee and/or hide behind furniture when they get close to her. She sometimes tenses when she is picked up or given affection. She has made progress in that she will now tolerate petting her for a few minutes before she gets up and moves. She will also bark when the humans in her foster home are not visible. She seems to want to be in the same room with them, but at a distance.
Tinder will need a patient adopter, one who is willing to give her the time and space she needs to navigate life outside the mill. Tinder is somewhat of a loner when it comes to the other dogs in the home. Although she will curl up with them, she often prefers being upstairs by herself on her foster parents' bed. She also finds comfort alone in her crate or curled up in a corner of the house.
Tinder has not shown any interest in toys at this point in time. Tinder is very smart. She taught herself to go up and down stairs the second day she was in her foster home. She is also an escape artist. If there is a way in or out of an enclosure, she will find it. She is like a cat, in that she can squeeze her body through some impossibly small spaces. A very secure fenced in back yard is required in her new home.
